Once we got to the hosiptal they monitored my contractions and Reese's heart rate. I was only dilated a 1... Which was something because I had been nothing for so long. The doctor said I could go home and wait till my contractions got stronger and closer together. So we left around noon, got some lunch, and played the waiting game.
Let me just say it became miserable. The contractions came in full force and by 6 that afternoon, we decided to go back to the hospital. When we checked in I was dilated a 4 and they admitted me to get the whole process started.
I got my epidural right after I was admitted and it was amazing. I couldn't imagine doing it without one. I finally was dilated to a 10 at 3:45 a.m. September 1st. To make a long story short... I pushed for 4 hours with breaks inbetween. I had amazing nurses and an amazing husband as a coach through the whole thing.
With all my support and all my pushing, Reese wasn't budging. She was right there but the way she was positioned it just wasn't happening. The doctor came in and said that we would try to suction her out and if that didn't work we would need to do a c-section. At this point I was a wreck. I was exhausted and emotionally drained. But somehow within 20 minutes of the doctor being there and trying the suction, Reese was born at 10:06 a.m. September 1st. Since I had pushed for so long they had 3 nicu nurses on stand by in my room to check Reese. The doctor cut the cord and wisked her away.
A couple seconds later we heard her cry and a nurse turned to us and asked, "Who has dimples?" All was perfect and our sweet Reese was a healthy 7lbs 14oz. We couldn't be more blessed to have our little bundle here and healthy, love her so much.
