1st Ultrasound & Telling Our Parents

I found out I was pregnant shortly after Christmas was over and done with.  We were visiting our family in Arkansas and chose to wait till I was further along and had seen a doctor before I told anyone.  I was very excited but still in disbelief.  We were trying but I was so surprised that it actually happened. We came home to Alabama from our visit and being pregnant started to sink in, especially around 8 weeks.  I was nauseated and not feeling 100%.  That soon passed and I had my first doctors visit.  I wasn't crazy about that doctors office so I switched to another that a friend recommended. So at my second doctor's visit with my new doctor, I also had my first ultrasound.

The ultrasound was so amazing.  Little G was moving all over the place and hearing the heartbeat was just beyond crazy.  The baby wouldn't lay like the ultrasound tech wanted for the pic.  She called baby G stubborn. I wonder where it gets it?  I was 12 weeks at this ultrasound.  After the ultrasound, Pat and I felt like it was time to tell our parents.  I was so nervous and don't ask me why.  We decided to send them grandparent Valentine's cards with a copy of the ultrasound to announce the news.  I was so relieved to have the news out!

Our Family Of Four

A little bit of mine and Pat's story.  We met in May of 2008 at a friend's graduation party.  We dated as he graduated college and then traveled to Colorado and Costa Rica while I worked on finishing my teaching degree.  In 2010 I graduated college and Pat joined the military. That summer he went to boot camp and I got hired as a first grade teacher.

We moved in together once he returned from AIT (advance individual training).  In May of 2011, my sweet Patty popped the question with flowers and our dog, Jersey.  We had a short engagement, which I loved.  We got married September 23, 2011 and it was the most amazing day EVER.

We went on a honeymoon to Mexico and it was gorgeous and oh so perfect.

We both have grown up in Arkansas and bought our first house the summer of 2012.  Later that October we got our first pet together, Wren.  Pat was not a cat person but he knew how much I wanted one and agreed.  We got sweet little Wren from a mutual friend and today Mr. Pat is smitten by her.  Jersey is our boxer that Pat had before we met.  All together we make a little family of four.

Today we are living in Fort Rucker, Alabama.  Why, you ask?  Pat had a dream and he is making it happen with the help of the military.  In March of 2013 he was told he was accepted into flight school for the Army National Guard.  So we rented out our house, packed it up and moved down.  Pat moved in May and I waited till school was over and came in June with the animals.  Alabama has been an adventure so far.  I miss family, friends, and my job but everyday is something new here and now we are expecting our first little.  I feel stronger as a married couple and have enjoyed making many new friends. Pat's estimated graduation date is for July so hopefully baby G stays put and allows us to move back home before it makes its debut.

I'm very excited to start my very first blog! I have always itched to do one but never really had the motivation to do it.  Recently my husband and I found out we were having a BABY! We are very excited and I thought what better way to document things than to have a sweet little blog. Soooo here we go!
