At Home Newborn Session

Once we were home and settled my friend Rachel took some sweet pictures of us as a family and of Reese.  Here are some of my favorites.

Hospital Newborn Pictures

The hospital has a photographer that does pictures while you are there and I couldn't pass these sweet images up.  Reese was 2 days old. :)

Week 1 with Reese

Week one can be summed up as amazing and exhausting all in one. Little sleep has happened. Mainly tying to teach Reese the difference between day and night and me just being terrified of closing my eyes while she sleeps.  

We left the hospital September 2nd at around 1 that afternoon. It was an exciting and kind of a scary feeling all in one. The scary feeling came from not knowing what to expect once we had Reese all to ourselves and no nurses to ask my many questions to.  

We weren't home very long though without having to go back to the hospital. I noticed Reese's skin and the white of her eyes becoming pretty yellow. We made an appointment with our pediatrician and sure enough she had a high level of jaundice. We were admitted to the hospital on Thursday afternoon and we weren't realsed till Saturday around noon. 

Being at the hospital again and having to keep Reese in an incubator while she wore a mask was no fun. I am very thankful for Reese being healthy and I know jaundice is an easy fix when treated but I felt so helpless as a parent. We could only take her out of the incubator to feed and change her. We got through it though and went home and watched the hogs bring home a win, had our first bath, and jumped back into being a family of three.
